Now available for download the version 3.2 of VirtualBox , one of the programs most popular virtual machine. Recall that since the Sun acquisition by Oracle, the software will now be calledOracle VM VirtualBox.

As we said when leaving the first beta, this new version incorporates main novelty, the possibility to virtualize Mac OS X so experimental . The chapter on the manual, show clearly that the license system does not allow Apple to install it on hardware that is not theirs, such as saying “I warned you, you know what you do.” We’ll see if the company complies with that Jobs or are released into the jugular, which we know are yours.

Among some of the limitations for virtualizing Mac OS X are the inability to use the Guest Additions (that allow us, among other things, greater integration between the systems), some problems with the video and the possibility of crashes due to energy saving options (this easily solvable according to the documentation).

What is most striking is this possible to virtualize Mac OS, but many bugs have been fixed, and have implemented improvements in things like memory management, multiple monitors, USB , etc..

Choose wisely is a small application for Mac OS X that will allow us to select the browser with which we open the link. It works when accessing an Internet address from the chat client, mail client or a shortcut, to give some examples.

The operation of the program is quite simple, the first thing to do after downloading, it set it as default browser. To do this we run the Safari browser and from the Preferences Choose Wisely will indicate that, from now, our default browser.

Now, whenever you click on a link in any program other than a browser will display the selection menu. To add to Choose Wisely browsers you simply drag its icon from the Applications folder.

The number of browsers can be configured in the application is limited to between five and viewing options that allows to display the version of each one of them and the address being accessed.

Choose wisely works in the latest version of Mac OSX, Snow Leopard and can be downloaded for free from the author’s website. The instructions on the page are in German, although as you have seen their operation is quite simple and intuitive.

The application is quite simple and the less useful, especially now that users coming from Windows are more used to choose the browser. Leaving that point aside, it is still quite useful when testing pages in different browsers and can open them quickly.
